Common FAQs
1. Does the castle need power?
Yes, we provide an extension lead that can be run from inside a building. If power is not accessible nearby, you can add a generator at checkout.
2. Do I need to add weights/sandbags?
We provide pegs for the castle to be set up on a grass area, however for indoors or use on concrete driveways please make sure to add sandbags/weights at checkout.
3. Can I collect the castle myself?
Collection for castles is from our container in Redruth, Timaru (96 King St). You can select a time to collect when booking between 8:45am-9:30am and return times are between 4pm-6pm.
4. How much is delivery?
Delivery (including collection) starts from $65, this includes collection. Set up & pack down can also be added for $35 at checkout. Rates vary based on suburb, all delivery zones are visible at checkout.
5. What are your delivery times?
When booking your castle, you can select a timeslot for us to deliver in the morning, then for collection in the afternoon (no later than 6pm).
6. Do I need a trailer to collect?
Most of our bouncy castles will fit in an SUV (e.g. Toyota Highlander), station wagon (e.g. Subaru Outback) or Ute (e.g. Ford Ranger), but we recommend a trailer as the best option.
7. Can I book a castle overnight?
Yes, however there is an additional overnight fee of $40. This will, however, be subject to availability. Please book online, then email us to enquire about an overnight hire.
8. How long does it take to setup?
Most of our castles take 15-20 minutes to fully set up and peg down. We provide detailed instructions for this if you're collecting from us.
9. What is your policy if it rains?
We offer free postponement or cancellation for rain if 24 hours notice is given. We may charge a loading fee if the booking is cancelled on the day.
10. Where can I set my castle up?
Our castles are designed for flat (non-sloped) grass areas or shelted concrete sites (e.g. sheltered driveway). For castles in exposed concrete areas (e.g. basketball court), please contact us for water weight pricing.
11. Where can't I setup my castle up?
Our castles are not suitable for sloped sites, beaches or sandy soils.
12. What about the wind?
If your castle is in an exposed grass area (e.g. paddock) or a windy location, note this at checkout and we provide additional pegs to anchor the castle. We provide a wind meter to measure the wind during your hire.
13. Can I book over the phone?
To ensure we get the correct information, we prefer bookings online. However we can take bookings via email (info@eventhire.co.nz) with a manual booking fee applied.
14. Is it difficult to setup the castle myself?
